Recipe: Matcha Mint Cashew Latte

Mint tea, freshly brewed and chilled in our Flash Chill Iced Tea Maker, adds a bright burst of natural sweetness to this sip. The trick to make this instant matcha latte? We blend matcha powder, mint iced tea and cashews in a high powdered blender for a latte that comes together in minutes.

The key is to make sure that the cashew nuts are unsalted and unroasted. Why cashews? They easily blend into a latte without any straining (not the case for almonds, walnuts, etc). And if you’re blender isn’t on the strong side, soak your cashews in water overnight, strain the water, and use the softened cashews for easier blending. Add a touch of maple syrup to enhance the sweetness of the mint, and a pint of salt to make the sweet notes shine.

While the recipe makes a full 1 or 2 quart quantity of Mint Tea (depending on if you’re using the 1 or 2 QT Flash Chill Iced Tea Maker), the ingredients for the latte only make one serving. Store the mint tea in the fridge all week long and make a match latte whenever you crave one (and drink the mint tea in the evening when a caffeine-free sip is on your list). Creamy, naturally sweet, and refreshing, this sip will definitely brighten your day!

Matcha Mint Cashew Latte

makes 5-8 cups iced mint tea and 1 serving matcha cashew latte 

Ingredients:

Add 5 tablespoons of mint tea (for the 1 Quart Flash Chill Iced Tea Maker) into the tea infuser or 8 tablespoons mint tea (for the 2 Quart Flash Chill Iced Tea Maker) into the tea infuser with extender attached. Twist infuser into lid. 

Heat 2.5 cups water (for 1 Quart Flash Chill Iced Tea Maker) or 4 cups water (for 2 Quart Flash Chill Iced Tea Maker) until boiling and then pour into the iced tea maker. Lower the tea infuser into the water (allowing steam to vent) and brew for 5 minutes. Lift the tea infuser from the brewed tea, place into infuser holder, and twist to detach infuser from lid. 

Fill the entire pitcher with ice, seal lid airtight, and shake for 30 second to flash chill. 

To make one serving of the Matcha Mint Cashew Latte, add the raw cashews, ¾ cup iced mint tea, maple syrup, matcha powder and a pinch of salt and blend for 2-3 minutes until smooth. Pour into a glass filled with ice and enjoy! 

Store the remaining Mint Iced Tea in the Flash Chill Iced Tea Maker in the refrigerator for future Matcha Lattes or pure mint iced tea sips.
