I’m #BetterBecause of the many coaches I’ve had. Coaches come in many forms; there is the traditional coach of a team, but there are also coaches of integrity, business, mentality and almost anything that a person could improve upon or prepare for more effectively. I’ve been fortunate to have some great coaches throughout my life, but in particular I’ve had a few that have helped me grow into a fulfilling career as well as challenge me to push for more and always strive to do better than I have.
Dariel Cepeda was my first coach, who pushed me to be a better athlete and challenge what I thought I could do. Physical feats and coaching accomplishments I had not considered were always something Dariel pushed for even when I did not have the same confidence. I am #betterbecause of Dariel’s teachings as he trained me to be confident and develop the skills needed in my career as a Crossfit coach.
Kenny Santucci is the man who gave me a chance to be more than a technical coach, but taught me to give an experience as a coach and encouraged me to add my personality to everything I do so that what I bring to the coaching floor is irrefutably me. The skills I have learned from Kenny and the experiences I’ve had working with and for him have prepared me for any new opportunity as well as created them. I am #betterbecause of Kenny’s encouragement and belief in me to be successful on the biggest stages.
Jay Wein has always been the person to keep me accountable with my mentality. I’ve worked for Jay as a coach and personal trainer and he always has demanded more from me. As a boss he’s provided opportunities for me as a coach. He has had unwavering confidence in me which has empowered me to dive head first into the gym’s culture and community. No matter what ups or downs my life has taken, I’ve always had his support. I am #betterbecause of Jay’s confidence and belief in me.
It is my belief that no one is “selfmade” and everyone needs a support system, these three men have always been that for me in career and life as training partners, bosses, coaches, and friends.
