How to Hand Wash Your Takeya Sport Bottle

A fresh reset for your Takeya Sport Bottle starts with a simple daily clean. Daily handwashing with warm water, mild dish soap, and the Takeya 2-in-1 Bottle Brush helps keep every sip fresh. Here's our recommended step-by-step instructions for cleaning your water bottles:

  1. Start by removing the lid (and straw if straw bottle), and any O-rings (and straw gasket if straw bottle).
  2. Using warm water and mild dish soap, scrub the inside of the bottle with the large end of the Takeya 2-in-1 Bottle Brush, making sure to clean the bottom, sides, and around the bottle opening. Then clean the interior and exterior of the lid with the large end of the brush.
  3. Then use the smaller straw brush to clean the straw, spout, interior of the lid. This helps remove buildup from hard-to-reach areas and keeps your straw lid or spout lid clean for everyday use.
  4. Rinse the bottle, lid, straw, and spout O-ring and gasket components thoroughly with clean water.
  5. Leave all parts open to air dry overnight. Make sure the straw lid or spout lid stays open while drying to help prevent moisture from getting trapped.
  6. In the morning, simply reassemble your Takeya Sport Bottle (O-rings and gaskets into lid and lid onto bottle).

Pro Tip: To make sure your O-rings are securely in place, press them back into the lid/spout, then twist the lid onto the bottle to gently press them into position.
